About
Awarded best mixed-use project at the World Architecture Festival 2022.
Relative co-developed adaptive reuse and material upcycling design strategies for podiums within the interconnected 80 Collins mixed-use precinct. QIC divested the project which was acquired by Dexus.
The work focused on an adaptive design visioning process covering coworking, food culture, retail and public realm interfaces within an interwoven vertical precinct made up of a new commercial mixed-use tower, the existing north tower and a new boutique hotel. Relative was engaged by QIC to develop benchmarking, concepts and design strategies to stitch together a spectrum of experiences within the complex transformation of the north tower into an active and open destination.
Our research and visioning process focused on a masterplan that would engage future users, including government staff, workplace tenants, visitors and public, with the broader city through third spaces and social interaction. Material innovations were developed alongside Foolscap to conceptualise and anchor the experience of this Collins Street CBD regeneration project.
